New Products: Starke Yacht Surface Technologies from Sea Swag

November 6, 2025

The owners of Sea Swag Custom Boat Bedding are Stacey Bryson and Ashley Hanaka.  They know how uncomfortable sleeping and your boat can be if you don’t have the right equipment in place. And now not only do they make sure your bedding looks immaculate on the inside, they sell Starke products for the care on the outside.

Starke Yacht Care is headquartered in Florida with a Canadian distributor. Sea Swag is now making it available via its website. Stacey explains: “I came across the product, used it, loved it and decided it was something I needed to share with the boating community.  The line began as a high-end marine detailing and surface restoration technology system for yachts, with professionals in mind, and has grown into a full range for both professional and DIY application.”

Phase A: Core Compounds & Polishes

Early on, Starke focused on heavy-cut compounds, medium-cut compounds, finishing polishes, etc – products aimed at restoring gel coat/paint surfaces on boats

– These are the “correction” stage products: removing oxidation, swirls and restoring gloss.

Phase B: Sealants, Coatings and Protectants

Next Step: after correction, Starke offers protection products: sealants, marine-grade ceramic coatings. They also added specialized products for vinyl/fabric (e.g. fabric stain repellent, called “Shield”, also used on clean, dry “Seadek” which forms a protective, invisible barrier); “Metal Polish” (used on all of your boats metals-including anodized aluminum towers) giving a high gloss shine in seconds; water spot removers called “Venom” and for the removal of mold is “Mildew Clean”.

Phase C: Maintenance & Wash Care

More recently, they have a full was care/maintenance category: marine-safe soaps like “Pure Clean Boat Soap” and “Ultra Clean SiO 2 Soap”, waterless washes, maintenance sprays like “Simple Clean” and “Replenish Silica Spray”

The Starke marketing approach: once you’ve restored and coated your boat, maintenance is crucial to keep the finish.

By Andy Adams

There is no shortage of fun and exciting new boat designs hitting the market, but for the last few years these have been mainly outboard-powered day boats. So when I heard that Pride Marine in Orillia, Ontario, had a Nimbus 365 Coupe in the water, I jumped at the chance to get out on it.

Tahiti—Updates from Paradise

By Zuzana Prochaska

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:

…you understand now why you came this way.
