L’épave de l’Endurance retrouvée 107 ans après son naufrage
L’Agence France-Presse rapportait le 9 mars que l’épave de l’Endurance, le navire de l’explorateur britannique Ernest Shackleton brisé par les glaces en 1915 au large de l’Antarctique, a été découverte dans la mer de Weddell par 3 000 mètres de fond.

Hausse des incidents et accidents mortels en bateau aux États-Unis en 2020
En juin dernier, la Garde côtière américaine a publié son rapport statistique sur la navigation de plaisance 2020, révélant qu’il y a eu 767 décès liés à la navigation dans tout le pays en 2020, soit une augmentation de 25,1 % par rapport à 2019.

Eight Bells – John Weakley
It is with great sadness that we note the passing of John Weakley. He was active in sailing and racing circles for all his life. He served as Rear Commodore and Commodore of PCYC and was a valued member of the Board of Trustees and Fleet Committee. He sailed in everything from Wayfarers to 8 Meters.

New CL Yachts CLX96 sea trials
Last month, CL Yachts new CLX96 underwent her first sea trial reaching a top speed between 24 and 25 knots under full load with weight added to simulate a tender and on board equipment. The new model is first in a series that the company calls a “luxury performance sea activity vessel.”
