Cruisers Yachts Unveils New 2013 45 Cantius
Cruisers Yachts has announced that a private unveiling of the 45 Cantius will take place at its 2013 annual international dealer meeting in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., held July 30 to Aug. 1, 2012, followed by a public debut at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show this October. The stylish 45 Cantius, complete with Volvo Diesel IPS propulsion, is the sister yacht to both the 41 and the 48 Cantius; the Cantius line originally launched in 2010. “Both the 41 and 48 really set a standard for engineering design in the Cantius family; it was up to our engineers to not only hit, but to exceed those standards with the 45.”

Appointment of new CPS Executive Director
Richard Bee, Chief Commander of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons is pleased to report that the organization has completed the search process and hired a new Executive Director. Their new Executive Director is Walter Kowalchuk. He will be joining CPS-ECP on September 4, 2012. Walter was born and raised in Edmonton Alberta and moved to the Toronto area in 1984. He is married with two children. His wife Susan is the Program Manager with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel.

Marlow Acquisitions, LLC Completes Sale of Hunter Marine Corporation
The sale to Marlow Acquisitions, LLC, for all of the assets of Hunter Marine Corporation, and selected assets of Mainship Corporation and Luhrs Corporation has closed, according to John T. Peterson, President of Hunter and Chief Restructuring Officer/Treasurer of Morgan Industries Corporation, the holding company of Mainship and Luhrs. “With this behind us it is time to shift all our resources to get back to the task at hand, building and marketing boats”, stated Peterson.

You May Have to Take It With You
It’s an old joke; you can’t take it with you but when it comes to gasoline and your boat, there is a concern that some people already have to take it with them – to their dinghy, their fishing boat, their summer place, wherever you need fuel on the water, but where no one is selling it. The media is currently buzzing about most provinces experiencing gasoline prices at the city and highway pumps in the $1.35 to $1.40 range and speculation is that this may rise as the summer progresses.
