Get a view from the water at Barrie’s in-water boat show – Father’s Day weekend (June 15 – 17) on Kempenfelt Bay in Downtown Barrie’s Heritage Park! Planned are 52 in-water and 20 dryland exhibits featuring a broad range of best-in-class fishing boats, sport boats, day cruisers and yachts, from 12 to 50 feet.

Admission to the show is free during its three days: Friday, 2 pm – 8 pm; Saturday, 10 am – 7 pm; Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm.

Tahiti—Updates from Paradise

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:
