New Boat Pump Out Station At Maple Bay Marina

Maple Bay Marina Fuel Dock

Nov 22, 2018

Maple Bay Marina partnered with the Municipality of North Cowichan and the Maple Bay Community Association to open a new pump-out facility at the marina this past summer.

Canadian Yachting Magazine and the CY OnBoard newsletter will help spread the word of this new pump-out facility through our social media posts and website. We encourage our readers to help spread the word about this new facility at the Maple Bay Marina. This information should be of great interest to our American boating friends.

The service is located at the Fuel Dock (H Dock) at the farthest southerly point of Maple Bay, in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. This new pump-out system provides boaters with an environmentally responsible way to discharge waste and protect our world-class waters.

Maple Bay Marina Visitor DockThe pump-out system had a soft opening on June 15, 2018 and the service was offered at no charge to all boaters until October 15, 2018, at which time the cost will be $5.00 / pump-out.

The service is available during the regular operating hours of the Fuel Dock. Boaters can hail the marina on 66A when they are in the Bay and are approaching the Marina for service.

Maple Bay Marina General Manager, David Messier said, “As a proud certified 5 anchor “Clean Marina”by the Georgia Straight Alliance Clean Marina Program, we are excited to work with our partners to offer the new pump-out service and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to protecting the spectacular boating environment we love so much.”

Maple Bay Marina is a full service destination marina, open year round and offering a broad scope of services supporting boaters in the Canadian Gulf Islands and the East Coast of Vancouver Island in the Salish Sea. Maple Bay Marina is the only location in Maple Bay with a municipally-owned treatment plant, making the Marina the ideal location for a pump-out system.

Just when you thought you might never see the Galley Guys again, there they were waving from the flying bridge of a Le Boat Horizon 3 gliding down the Trent Severn Waterway (TSW) in the sun. Glorious!
