McNeill Fuel Dock Now North Island Marina
Port McNeill Fuel Dock has a new name – North Island Marina – that reflects its growth from a fuel stop into a full-
service marina and a major port of call for cruisers in the Broughton Islands and Queen Charlotte Strait or en route to BC’s north coast.
“We are now much more than just a fuel dock. We offer 2,100 feet of transient moorage for boats from 28’ to 285’, in-berth refueling and full concierge services for our yacht customers,” says general manager Steve Jackman. “We found many of our customers want more than just moorage. We can help with provisioning, dinner reservations in Port McNeill, or side trips to local attractions including helicopter tours, fishing charters, whale-watching or golf.”
North Island Marina has float plane service from the dock to and from Vancouver and Seattle, or airline service from Port Hardy Airport, just a few miles away by courtesy shuttle van. This gives cruisers the option of leaving their boats at the marina for a week or more while commuting quickly to and from major population centres.
The marina can assist with repairs and arrange for a mechanic for major work; parts can also be air-shipped easily to the docks. And boating groups can use the hospitality tent on the dock, a convenient spot for impromptu happy hours.
