Central Okanagan Sailing Association (COSA) coach, Devin Rubadeau (right) accepts the Rotary Club of Kelowna’s generous donation $5,000 to our Able Sail program. Able Sail provides sailing opportunities to individuals with disabilities. COSA has been offering accessible sailing for 25 years. The $5000 will be used to further enhance the programs capabilities, increasing the impact Able Sail has on our community!

COSA in the heart of Kelowna’s Lower-Mission, is just minutes from downtown. The club is ideally located on the shores of beautiful Okanagan Lake. Home to one of Canada’s largest Sailing Schools. The COSA instructors teach more than 3,000 students sailing and windsurfing every year!

The club has been so successful, that all youth sailing and windsurfing programs for 2017 were sold-out. Registration for 2018 will commence in November. COSA coaches taught a record number of sailors this year and look forward to another great sailing season next year!

Th COSA Race Team is winning around the world. Youth from the COSA Race Team have been busy around the globe earning podium finishes this July!In Lithuania, Ryan Rubadeau and Gabriella Littleton both earned Bronze at the 2017 International Children’s Games.

BC Sailing Championships in SquamishJuniors continued their winning ways at the BC Sailing Championships in Squamish, that saw Ian Wright finish 2nd, a week after earning 4th at the Waves Regatta at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club. Other Waves results included Claire Ramsey in 3rd, while Kyle Wright, Max Ramsey, Katherine Littleton, and Mackenzie Littleton all had fabulous finishes.

The COSA’s Race Team is a great opportunity for youth to learn about the competitive aspects of sailing while participating on a team where having fun is the number one goal. While the Race Team competes at local, provincial, and national events, our main focus is Sailing for Life. A majority of our former race team members continue to sail, while some have even participated at the highest levels as members of the Canadian National Sailing Team. COSA racers have earned medals at every BC Summer Games in the past two decades; while dozens of our team members have gone on to become certified sailing coaches at COSA!
