Winter in Victoria???!!!

Great icicles! This is not what one expects from the tropical climes of BC. It’s a nice winter Photo of the Week, though.

“Took this picture of Ladysmith Marina (Vancouver Island BC) while walking the dock after a December Winter storm; ice formed on the water, snow on the boats and docks and foggy mist on the horizon.“

The POTW rules are simple. It has to be your shot, taken in and around boats or from a boat. Or anything else boat-ish. Or any great photo of docks, ports, winches, engine parts, people, and pets on boats, of course. You shoot it, we’ll include it.

POTW: Boater heroes

In Mid June, a floatplane plunged into Constance Bay on the Ottawa River after two planes collide near Arnprior. The outcome could have been much worse for the pilot if not for the fast action of a few friends out boating on Sunday afternoon.

Seemingly part sailboat and part spaceship, the new Jeanneau Yachts 55 just busted through the boundaries of traditional yacht design. I couldn’t take my eyes off the bubble hardtop that met me at the dock and I stepped aboard with trepidation. A few hours later, I was planning how to spend my not-yet-won lottery winnings.
