Dockside Dining: Fenelon Falls – The Cow and Sow

Sept 26, 2024

By Chuck and Shelly

At  lock 34 on the Trent-Severn Waterway between Sturgeon Lake and Cameron Lake Fenelon Falls is he “Jewel of the Kawarthas”.

Lunch in the  charm of the village at The Cow and Sow, situated at 38 Colborne Street, mere steps away from the picturesque falls.

The Cow and Sow was established in 1996 by Dickon Robinson. Dickon’s theory for the Cow and Sow has been no shy of outstanding. Historically the Cow and Sow’s philosophy has been simple: Every person who walks through the swinging doors is either already a friend or will be. Dickon built the restaurant to be one of the most successful businesses in Fenelon Falls, and the go-to place for both locals and cottagers alike.

This eatery boasts a diverse menu, featuring mouthwatering burgers, chicken, and fresh salads, all crafted with flavorful ingredients. We shared potato skins and shelley had a nice burger while Chuck behaved with a Barnyard Salad.

On game nights, the restaurant comes alive with enthusiastic sports fans, while quiet afternoons offer a serene ambiance perfect for savoring a peach sangria (yum) or your preferred drink.

Just when you thought you might never see the Galley Guys again, there they were waving from the flying bridge of a Le Boat Horizon 3 gliding down the Trent Severn Waterway (TSW) in the sun. Glorious!
