For the entire August long weekend, Friday July 31 to Monday, August 3, five participating Ontario marinas – Bay Port, Beacon Bay, Paragon Marina, South Bay Cove and Wye Heritage  – donated ten cents for every litre of fuel sold to the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation.

By the end of the weekend, the five had almost achieved 100,000 litres and would have if Mother Nature hadn’t rained on the parade. Nonetheless, the final tally showed that the fundraiser of $8,593 from 85,593 litres of fuel surpassed its $10,000 goal helped by a $600 donation from an anonymous boater and a further $1,407 from Dave Rozycki, President of Maple Leaf Marinas.
