Everyone’s headed to the Boat Show

The Vancouver International Boat Show will include more than 250 exhibitors, providing boat enthusiasts with a first look at the 2020 boating season’s premiere boat models and accessories – and include over 125 presentations and workshops led by boating experts. The 58th annual event, scheduled Wednesday, February 5 through Sunday, February 9.

This year’s Show will once again be hosted in two locations, indoors at BC Place and the floating show at Granville Island. Free shuttle buses and water ferries will also be operating continuously between the two venues.

One of the high points of the event will undoubtedly be Twiggy, the word famous water-skiing squirrel who has been announced as one of the many highlighted features of the show.

Main FloorTwiggy will be performing on a daily basis during the event, where show-goers will learn about water safety, waterskiing and experience some of fun excursions Twiggy undertakes within her lagoon. This show is full of laughs, surprises and even features a special guest, Roxie, as Twiggy’s trusty lifeguard!

Seminars: With over 125 combined presentations, Boating experts from around the world educate, inspire and entertain at the Vancouver Boat Show, sharing their experience and expertise on everything from boating basics to spellbinding boating adventures. Floating Show: Fresh air, saltwater and spectacular boats make the Floating Show at Granville Island a must-see highlight of the Vancouver International Boat Show!

Located under the Granville Street Bridge, this stunning marina is a brief shuttle ride from BC Place – and for your convenience, FREE shuttle buses and FREE water ferries run continuously between BC Place and Granville Island.

We recommend you begin your boat show visit at Granville Island, as the Floating Show closes daily at at 5:30pm, Wednesday through Saturday, and 5pm on Sunday.

Womens Day: Join us on Saturday, February 8, 2020 for Women’s Day at the Vancouver Boat Show. Women’s Day is a one-day educational opportunity for women of all levels and types of boaters! A full day of boating seminars and guest speakers designed to educate and inspire. All events during the day are intended to build confidence by presenting information in a fun and supportive environment. Built into the day will be time to meet other like-minded women, ask questions, share stories and create communities that will live on outside this one day!

There are lots of topics to choose from ranging from basic electrical, emergency procedures, docking, anchoring, Howe Sound weather, electronics and apps, boat insurance, and tips and tricks for the galley and crew. The presentations, for both power and sail, will help beginners get started and offer seasoned boaters a fun refresher. Registration is required and includes a ticket to enjoy the boat show on any show day; since this is a full day event and you won’t have much time to visit the boat show.

And to top it all off, every registrant receives an amazing gift bag and raffle prize!

Registration is required, space is limited to 100 women* All sessions will take place at BC Place Stadium. Only $99 (GST included). Your day includes:

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
