Martin 242 North Americans

Martin 242 Fleet One Vancouver hosts the class’s 2012 North American Championship September 21-23 on English Bay. The regatta has been expanded to three days to increase competitiveness and respect the distance travelled by racers from Vancouver Island, Alberta, Oregon and California.

A BC design, the M242 is a highly competitive class that maintains strong fleets on the West Coast. Over 300 boats have been built since 1981 and are many are still competitive today.

The NAs will feature prizes and support from Hester Creek Wines, a jib for a skipper’s raffle prize donated by Evolution Sails Vancouver, and a one-day on-water racing clinic sponsored by Blast Performance Sailing.
