Apr 23, 2020
On April 9, much loved Canadian boating and outdoor hat and clothing manufacturer Tilley Endurables announced that the company is joining the fight against COVID-19 by extending our production facility to support healthcare workers and our community. “We’re converting our Toronto factory to manufacture masks and gowns for hospitals, with production scheduled to begin Tuesday April 14th,” says Andrew Prendergast, President & CEO of Tilley Endurables Inc.
These will be for non-patient facing staff for hospitals to save their medical grade PPE for front line workers. Tilley has already started production on non-medical masks and face shields for consumers.
Over the past two weeks Tilley had been studying its production abilities and working with a local hospital group on approving patterns for masks and gowns to ensure correct protective fit.
“The health of the global community is our top priority at this time, and we’re ready to pivot our resources to support the medical professionals fighting COVID-19,” explains Prendergast. Tilley has also launched non-medical masks and face shields direct to consumers at www.Tilley.com . The company will donate 10% of proceeds to a COVID-19 relief to give back to the community.
