Born in Beauce (Québec), Montrealer by adoption while at school and now for work and family reasons, I became passionate about navigation under sail at the age of 50.
I took almost every course CPS-ECP has to offer, and I became involved at the squadron level first as a teacher and then as commander of the West-Island squadron, on the west end of Montreal.
After 2009, the year that the Pleasure Craft Operator Card became mandatory, our clientele fell considerably and it became necessary to reorganize our four squadrons’ operations to continue offering quality services to our students.
I participated in a plan to re-align our operations with the objective of maintaining a high level of service to our English-speaking students of the Montreal West-Island area.
I intend to help other districts that face similar problems so that they maintain a high level of competent and satisfied customers.
As an engineer and manager at my workplace, I intend to use my knowledge and experience to the benefit of CPS-ECP for the coming year.
Then I shall return at the helm of my sailboat to repeat the Atlantic crossing that I did in 2012-2013.
