The Crew at the CPS-ECP National Office

At every National Conference and AGM that I have attended, including 2016 in Vancouver, a number of members have taken the time to come and say hello and to introduce themselves to me. I always try to do the same. These introductions are really good for me and the members I meet as it is always great to put a face to a name.

In many of my conversations with members they have told me that they had been dealing with various members of our staff for many years and they had never actually met them. They had spoken to staff on the phone or by email and dealt with them on various matters, but never had the opportunity to meet them. While we can’t always bring our staff to the national conference or to other gatherings of members, I felt it was important for you the members to meet our staff.

Here is the great crew that is pleased to work with you and assist you at the CPS-ECP National Office.

Today I introduce the entire National Office crew to you. Going forward, once each month, I will profile one of our staff members and the work that they do at the National Office. While these meetings are not in person, I hope that they will be a meaningful way for you to meet the great crew of staff we have at CPS-ECP.

The main supply route from Britain to Upper Canada during the war was by ship to Montreal, then by boat along the St. Lawrence River to Prescott or Kingston and onwards to York and Niagara by schooner on Lake Ontario.  Control of the sea was necessary to secure these routes in wartime but the nondescript collection of coast guard like Provincial Marine vessels that existed on the Lakes during peacetime in the early 1800’s was no match for an enemy naval force during times of war. Both navies used the following three types of vessels on the Great Lakes during the War.  The tall ships still use these main types or variations on the theme.

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
