When the Seattle Seahawks advanced to the Super Bowl, Seattle boat show organizers, the Northwest Marine Trade Association and the Northwest Yacht Brokers Association, opted to close the show a day early for the historic game.

Despite the shorter nine-day schedule, final attendance was up two per cent at 51,684. As in Vancouver, Seattle exhibitors were extremely positive about the quantity, quality and upbeat mood of attendees.

Attendees came from 32 states, five Canadian provinces, and as far away as Sao Paulo, Brazil. Many exhibitors commented on the strong Canadian presence at the show.

“Attendees showed up with enthusiasm, ready to shop, plan and prepare for every type of boating in the Northwest, and the reports from our exhibitors are some of the most positive we’ve seen in years,” said NMTA president George Harris.
