The Stolze Cup is awarded annually to the regatta’s winning match racing skipper from a LYRA member club. This year’s event was held at RCYC Aug 10-11, 2019 in Sonars. There were eight teams competing from four countries including an all-women team from RCYC.

The winning skipper also receives an automatic invitation to compete in the Richardson Cup Match Racing Championship of the Yacht Racing Union of the Great Lakes for 2020 (the following year).

 

 

 

 

Results:

1st – Lance Fraser (sailing out of RCYC) representing Bermuda

2nd- Jordan Angsar representing Canada

3rd – Magnus Sandberg (sailing out of National YC) representing Sweden

Spotted! Canadian Boating in Antigua & Barbuda

I wore my Canadian Boating cap everywhere I went in Antigua, for the sun, not for the shout-outs. But I sure received a lot of them.

Antigua Sailing Week is an international regatta that draws sailors of every level and spectators from all over the world. Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
