GHYRA Blows (or not) into Newport YC

Our fearless west-end-of the-Lake reporter John Gallaugher checks in with the after race party update.
GHYRA arrived here on Monday afternoon … after a “NON-RACE” event which really bugs them all … not a breath of wind for the entire day …
The racers were strung out all down the lake just sitting there … it was unreal … a gorgeous day if you’re riding a bike or on a picnic but not if you’re racing out there on the high seas ….
I think there were 61 boats and every one ended up motoring in … it was really too bad … but it made for a hardy party group and the BBQ was lively followed by dancing into the wee hours to the oldies tunes provided by “Now and Then” …
Tuesday morning was no different … not a breath of wind … nada … everyone seemed to be leaving and just motored out at different times … I’m not sure there was even a race event on Tuesday (but I’d have to find out) …
