Going to attach some for you here too … I caught Volvo 70 Monster Project upon return yesterday … crew looks hardy !!!

Everybody got one hell of a workout on practice runs yesterday … gusts were unreal …

I’ve come to know the crazy morning guy quite well over the years and been on the air with him many times … on air name is … ready for this one … “Dr. SOC” !!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAA …. Morning show is called … “Fresh Air with Dr. SOC” …

There’s a photo of my wife and I on air with him the other day … he’s a riot … more on him later … he just gave an on-air report from the headquarters at the St. Maarten Yacht Club …

SXM – its like the Return of Thee Armada …. but most get costumes on and at the bridge there’s a wild crazy crowd screaming and cheering and giving scores to the best performances and costumes upon return … just WILD !!!>

………. aaaaaaaaaannnnnnnd away we go again …. the antics of the returning boats into the Simpson Bay are hilarious and get better each day … will send some shots later …
Have to be at the yacht club to grab this boat over to the big Media Party ….

C’mon … up and at ’em …. its serious RACE DAY !!!! Around the Island today …and the winds are rocking again … they are expecting a possible record today …

Lots of Canadians here … including Morgen Watson from Canadian Ocean Racing … very interesting character … had good chat with him last night …

Saturday morning finally comes; I have been rolling and tossing all night with much anticipation for the annual Solmar Lake Ontario 300 race. I kiss my family goodbye and head for the club. However, as I near the entrance, I gasp at my first sight of the lake; actually, I gasped because I couldn't even see the lake. Thick fog just sat there; not even a whisper of wind to push it out of the way. As a member of the organizing committee, I start to panic.

Coast Guard releases names of crewmembers involved in vessel capsizing

Having completed notifications of the next of kin, as well as debriefing immediate family members regarding the details of the search, the Coast Guard is officially releasing the names of those boaters who died and those who were rescued this morning in Lake Michigan.

Deceased are: Suzanne Bickel, age 41; and Mark Morley, 51, both of Saginaw, Mich.

Rescued were: Christopher Cummings, age 16; John Dent, 50; Stan Dent, 51; Peter Morley, 47; Stewart Morley, 15; and Lee Purcell, 46.

2011 Mobility Cup

A Quebec quartet continued its dominance in the Gold Fleet competition of the 2011 Mobility Cup Thursday, though the top spot changed hands.

Marc Villeneuve jumped ahead of previous leader Pierre Richard on the strength two first-place finishes at the event hosted by The Royal Hamilton Yacht Club and the Burlington Sailing & Boating Club.

Both sail for the Association Quebecoise de Voile Adaptee.

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
