2015 Swiftsure International Yacht Race Registration

Swiftsure 2015

The Royal Victoria Yacht Club invites you to the 72nd running of the Swiftsure International Yacht Race from May 23rd to May 25th. Swiftsure week occurs in Victoria‘s beautiful Inner Harbour with lots of activities beginning May 21st and runs through the weekend.

The Notice of Race (NOR) for the four long courses (Swiftsure Lightship Classic, Hein Bank, Cape Flattery, and Juan de Fuca), and the NOR for the one-day Swiftsure Inshore Classic are now posted on the web. You’ll find a challenging course to suit every racer.

New this year is the Hein Bank Race. For those yachts wanting a longer course but not wishing to race to Swiftsure Bank, this new race stays within the Juan de Fuca Strait. There will be IRC and PHRF divisions in both the Hein Bank and Swiftsure Lightship Classic races.

Double-handed divisions are being offered for monohulls in the Cape Flattery race and Juan de Fuca race, and single-handed divisions are being offered for monohulls in the Swiftsure Inshore Classic.

Online registration went live on January 5th. Simply follow this link: http://www.swiftsure.org/registration/ to go to Race Info on the Swiftsure webpage and follow the instructions to register.

Don’t be intimidated if you are doing Swiftsure for the first time. If you want advice about preparation, you will be put in touch with an experienced racer who will provide advice about how to prepare and how to enjoy Swiftsure to the fullest.
