PCYC Junior Sailors beef up their skills on-line

Earlier last month, Thomas Fogh, Program Manager of Learn to Sail at Port Credit Yacht Club, had just returned from a training camp in Florida with a large group of junior sailors – the only Canadian group to do so the week before the official Ontario March Break.

Upon arriving home and quarantining for 14 days, he got to work lining up speakers for both the Junior Race team and the PCYC members. As it was becoming more and more certain that the PCYC Junior Spring Training program was NOT going to happen, he wanted to keep all the junior sailors busy with everything from talks by inspirational sailing champions, to tactics, fitness and racing rules.

He now has a program all set up for them to meet via Zoom several times a week. They are accepting applications from non-PCYC members to join in. If you have a junior sailor who is itching to get out on the water, but can’t you might want to contact Thomas at learntosail@pcyc.net

In the past the Galley Guys have travelled far and wide to great locations to explore the good life on a boat. However, this year we stayed in our own backyard for a real treat; cruising The Trent Severn Waterway.
