Optimist North Americans

Diane Reid name Clipper Round the World Skipper
Diane Reid, Toronto sailor and member of Ashbridges’ Bay Yacht Club has been appointed the first female Canadian skipper in the world’s longest ocean race, the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, which takes more than 10 months to complete.

Boxing Rock Race is a great success in perfect sailing conditions
The 2017 Boxing Rock Cup was sailed in Halifax Harbour on June 10 under perfect, no I mean PERFECT conditions! Sunshine, nice winds, and lots of heat made for a great event for the nearly 40 boats and 200+ sailors.

The 2017 LO 300 continues to grow

Nova Scotian Schooner Sorca founders on voyage to Bermuda

Rudder Re-Design
It is nearly impossible and very cost prohibitive to improve the performance of a yacht by changing the existing hull shape. However it is relatively easy and inexpensive to alter the keel, rudder, rig and sails to improve performance.
