There have been high water events in 2017 and 2019 resulting in dramatic shoreline erosion and damage where docks, boat houses, homes and businesses have been affected; in some cases destroyed.

Boat theft caught on BRNKL camera
On April 13th at 3:30 am, at the Oak Bay Marina, a 54-foot yacht was stolen by a thief who had paddled into the marina on a canoe. Unfortunately for him, boat security start-up Barnacle Systems had a floating office only 20 metres away.

New York opens limited marine facilities
Marinas in New York state can open on a limited basis, State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced in a statement on Saturday night. Cuomo said marinas can “open for personal use as long as strict social distancing and sanitization protocols are followed.”
