Yves Gélinas Commodore d’honneur de la St-Laurent 400!

Pionnier de la navigation hauturière et source d’inspiration pour toute la communauté maritime, Yves Gélinas sera de la cérémonie de clôture de la St-Laurent 400 à Havre-Aubert, aux Îles-de-la-Madeleine, pour remettre en main propre le Trophée Yves-Gélinas aux grands gagnants de la régate.

« Un immense honneur pour notre événement et une belle occasion de célébrer la passion, le courage et l’esprit d’aventure qui animent tous les marins du Saint-Laurent! », dit Denis Wong de l’organisation de la St-Laurent 400.

La St-Laurent 400, une nouvelle course au large à la voile qui s’ajoute au calendrier québécois, partira de Tadoussac le 6 août 2026. Portée par l’OSBL Plaisanciers du Saint-Laurent, cette course exigeante et inspirante rassemblera les passionnés de voile du Québec et d’ailleurs.

Tahiti—Updates from Paradise

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:
