Le Festival Chants de Marins, où « la magie du fleuve et la musique se mêlent harmonieusement », jettera l’ancre à nouveau cette année à Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, du 14 au 17 août. « Laissez-vous transporter par des artistes talentueux et profitez d’une atmosphère unique, qui navigue entre Histoire maritime et modernité », lance son organisation.

La programmation complète de cette 25e traversée du Festival des chants de marins est maintenant en ligne. Concerts magiques, cabarets envoûtants, conférences inspirantes, ateliers surprenants, jam jusqu’au bout de la nuit… il y en a « pour tous les goûts, tous les âges pis tous les types de matelots! »

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:
