The Vancouver International Boat Show marks its 54th annual event this January, featuring its staple grand prize giveaway suitable for adventure-seekers, cottage-owners and the whole family. With support from Yamaha Canada and the G3 Dealers of BC (GA Checkpoint Yamaha, Kelowna Yamaha & Marine and Parker Marine Group), organizers are thrilled to give away a free family-sized fishing boat to one lucky winner!

Whether you’re hoping to teach your kids how to fish, spend a day chasing the sun or relax on the water with friends – a free fishing boat will get you there. Event attendees have a chance to walk away with the grand-prize, with various opportunities to enter to win.

This year’s family-sized grand prize will be a 2016 GF V150 Side Console 15ft aluminum fishing boat, complete with a 25hp Yamaha four stroke outboard engine, trailer, and safety kit including PFDs from Mustang Survival and fishing gear. On top of the credible craftsmanship and additional fishing amenities, this boat has a fantastic finish coupled with the right amount of power.

To enter the contest, simply fill out an on-site ballot located at the Main Gate A Entrance of BC Place or enter through Global BC, Rock 101, Vancouver Courier, Richmond News, North Shore News, Burnaby news or TriCity News. Four finalists will be chosen on the last day of the show and one lucky winner will be announced on Sunday January 24, 2016. The three runner-ups will receive a $100 fuel card.

As a Yamaha Marine company, a G3 boat owner can rely on quality, performance and the highest level of industry customer satisfaction. So, don’t forget to enter into the best prizing opportunity this boating season has to offer for the chance to take your family and friends out on the water in 2016.

The Vancouver International Boat Show runs January 20-24, 2016 at BC Place and Granville Island. Pre-plan your visit at www.VancouverBoatShow.ca.

I reach for the VHF to radio the lockmaster in charge of Erie Canal’s Lock 32 dead ahead. Our boat spins gently in the current like a maple key in a mud puddle.

“This is Onondaga,” I say. “Headed westbound and requesting passage.”
