Trump inaugurates to Toronto Boat Show

Trump Wakeboard

Jan 25, 2017

Trump At TIBSOn Thursday Jan 19, prior to the newly minted President Donald’s Washington Inaugural, Trump (or possibly an imposter) showed up to do some wakeboarding in the Lake at the Toronto International Boat Show. “Nobody can wakeboard on an indoor lake like Donald J Trump. It’s going to be YUGE,” he boasted as he strapped on his board.

Asked if he felt that Russians were hacking the boat show or possibly the CY Onboard website Trump commented “It’s the Mexicans. Believe me, we’re going to make them pay..”

On hand to take on president’s wakeboarding prowess was the Canadian Beaver, the only known antidote to Trump.

Editor’s note: This really did happen!  In one of the finest PR moves in TIBS history, boat show management set up a great photo-op on The Lake!  You won’t see Donald but there’s still time left to catch the show.

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:

…you understand now why you came this way.
