The Nanaimo Yacht Club will be hosting a seminar on the New Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS 2017 – 2020) on February 2, 2017.

Any skipper or crewmember from the mid-Vancouver Island area who was planning to be on the start line in 2017, should take this opportunity to navigate through the new rules. Come to the Nanaimo Yacht Club on Thursday, February 2 four 7 PM start of the new rules review by international judge Mike Turner.

A study version of the new rules is available on the www.sailing.org web site as is the final text of the New RRS 2017-2020.

Regulatory body for Racing Rules:

The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) govern the sport of sailing on the water. They are revised and published every four years by World Sailing The current edition is The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017 – 2020.
The Racing Rules of Sailing is available for purchase through the World Sailing Executive Office. You can also download the complete document and related publications.
Also available below are details of racing rule changes authorized by World Sailing under RRS 86.2, National Prescriptions and World Sailing’s Policy on the Reproduction of The Racing Rules.
As a result of actions taken by the World Sailing Racing Rules Committee and the World Sailing Council during the Annual Conference, changes may be made to the RRS during the four-year period. These changes are published as Changes and Corrections to the RRS.
