Sailing in Canada, and in Nova Scotia lost a really good supporter late last week.

Past Commodore Heather Robertson passed away at her home in Chester.

Heather was a past member of both the Sail Canada and Sail NS Board. 

She was a Commodore of the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, President of the Nova Scotia Sailing Association, Vice President of the Canadian Yachting Association, and President of the Bluenose Class Association.

Despite a 1995 skiing injury that required her to use a wheelchair for the rest of her life, Justice Robertson continued participating vigorously in sports. She golfed, she swam, she kayaked, she sailed. She competed in the sailor’s Mobility Cup. She chaired the 2014 International Federation of Disabled Sailors world championships, which was held in Nova Scotia.
Heather was a positive force to be reckoned with, and she will be widely missed.
