Boat Handling, Our New On The Water Seminar

Boathand

Feb 22, 2017

Wouldn’t it be great if we could take our boating students out in a boat and give them real, on the water training. Imagine, putting a first time boater in the driver’s seat, helping them learn how to get off the dock, and more importantly, how to get back to the dock. Did you know that CPS-ECP has a new one day seminar designed to do just that? The Boat Handling Seminar is available for Squadrons to teach students docking, anchoring and other important first time boater skills.

Now that this seminar has been developed, we need squadrons to assist in its final development by offering it students. It’s done in a small boat, on the water. This is a true boating experience for the first time boater. CPS-ECP has always done a fantastic job of classroom training. Now we can move that training out on to the water.

We need you and your squadron to take this seminar to your students. This will not only help them to have a true hands on learning experience, but you will also help CPS-ECP to put the finishing touches on the seminar so that we can make it an ongoing seminar Canada-wide.

If you are interested in being a part of this on water seminar, please contact the Course Director, Gary Clow at: gary.clow@worldteam.org.

Dodging holiday havoc in the tropics

Getting out of town was top-of-mind as it was only November and I was already saturated with Christmas traditions – the music, the glitter, the cookies, the sales. A week in relatively remote Belize was the siren song so we booked a 45-foot catamaran with The Moorings and packed our bags.
