The greatest benefit I got from my membership in CPS-ECP

Educational Officer's Message

I’m going to share with you what the French call a “secret de Polichinelle.” This expression refers to something that everyone knows even if it is passed on as a secret. You call it an “open secret.”

The greatest benefit I got from my membership in CPS-ECP is the training I have received.

The knowledge acquired has given me many safe and beautiful years of navigation on the St. Lawrence River and Gulf, from the Great Lakes to the Maritimes; then on the Atlantic Ocean to Europe and the Caribbean.

Now that age has somewhat slowed down my nautical adventures, I still keep invaluable friendships and contacts within the organization.

For me, these benefits far outweigh the monetary reductions, although these are not to be overlooked.

As we enter a new boating season, I wish you a summer of wonderful discoveries on the water.
