AGM

Aug 10, 2022

Register for the CPS-ECP AGM and CONFERENCE 2022

Save Before September 4th.

October in Toronto is wonderful and planning now, can extend your enjoyment of early fall. Temperatures are still very pleasant in Toronto. Daytime highs average 14ºC/57ºF so people pull on their favorite cozy sweaters to enjoy more patio time, outdoor markets and walks through Toronto’s impressive park systems. Layering is advised in October as the morning could be cool and the afternoon could be warm and a few raindrops could get into the mix. Autumn foliage is outstanding and with Toronto’s extensive green space there is an abundance of color.

Friday night at the AGM and Conference is always an enjoyable party and this year will be no exception.

You are invited to dress in the costume that best represents your own ethnic origin. If you have mixed origin you may want to mix it up but you don’t have to.
Planning your costume can be as much fun as winning a prize for best costume! If you don’t plan a costume you are welcome in casual attire. The theme for the party is “Toronto Welcomes the World”. It’s a great evening to visit, meet face to face in person, relax and be yourself. Dinner will be a multicultural buffet from Sheraton’s great chefs while we enjoy a visit from Scottish Highland Dancers, prizes and more visiting at the Great Lakes Hospitality Suite.

We haven’t been together for 2 years so let’s get ready, get set, go!

October will be here before you know it. Plan to attend. We are looking forward to seeing you there.

So when I heard that Pride Marine in Orillia, Ontario, had a Nimbus 365 Coupe in the water, I jumped at the chance to get out on it.

Tahiti—Updates from Paradise

By Zuzana Prochaska

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:

…you understand now why you came this way.
