Membership Renewal Update

Jan 14, 2021

The main renewal period for CPS-ECP membership will soon be starting. For those who registered and renewed their membership in the new management system in 2020, will receive a renewal notice, or when they login to the CPS-ECP Website, the Renew Membership Tab will show up in the Membership dropdown on the main front page. As you go through the renewal process, there will be a new format for renewing. If you don’t see the Renew Membership Tab, or receive a renewal notice, don’t worry, have the other CPS-ECP members in you family check.

Membership is now organized into Family Groups. The Family Group consists of one or more members residing at the same address, with a Family Head, and the Family Members. This is the new way CPS-ECP is managing membership. The Family Head manages the group. They will receive the renewal notice for all members of the family group. They will also receive all the postal mailings. But all members of the family group will still receive individual electronic mailings. So, it is important for the family head to make sure the contact information, and personal information for the other members of the family group is correct.

The Family Head will receive the renewal notice for all the members of the Family Group. They will be responsible for completing the renewal process for all the family members. Payment for membership renewal can be by Credit Card, Online Banking, or by E-transfer to For those who have renewed their membership in 2020, but don’t have internet access, you will still receive your renewal notice by mail, and can use the above methods of payment.

The goal moving forward is to have an accurate database of all the members. To do this, all members are required to renew each year. Even those who are Life members, Lady associates and Associates are being asked to renew. Don’t worry, the renewal invoice will show that you are a Life Member, the amount owing will be $0.00. The important result will be confirming that everyone’s contact information is accurate.

On February 2nd and 4th, the National Membership Committee will be holding Teams Live Events in both English and French to demonstrate the Membership Renewal process. All members will be receiving notices for these events giving the details. If you have questions or need assistance, ask your Squadron Membership Officer, or email National Office can also be contacted at 1-888-277-2628. Your National Membership Committee is always interested in hearing from you.

By Elizabeth Wilson, “Georgian Bay Beauties” (

The Plan

It’s a beautiful morning as we perform our pre-departure checklist, fire up the engines and prepare to release our lines. And if the long-range forecast of very low winds coupled with plenty of sunshine holds, that’s exactly what we need for the areas we plan to explore on this trip!

We are departing Midland for a week of visiting some of the islands and anchorages within Georgian Bay’s “30,000 Islands” – specifically those along the western edge. These are the less protected islands which face toward wide-open Georgian Bay, where boaters often have to depart the small craft route and work a little harder at setting the hook but are then rewarded with magnificent western views, stunning sunsets, and so much to explore!
