Become a part of CanBoat / NautiSavoir Board of Directors + Town Hall meeting date

February 12, 2026

Dear members,

Two important messages for you today.

  1. The Nominating Committee has been reconstituted to increase the number of directors on the Board to at least the minimum number stated in its Articles. Following the 2025 AGM, there were three incumbent directors and nine elected directors, totaling only twelve directors, the bare minimum required for a quorum under the Bylaws. At the Board meeting on 2026-01-29, the Board appointed three former directors, bringing the total number of directors to 15. Because the current Articles specify that the number of directors must be between 17 and 22, at least two directors must now be elected at a Special Meeting, called “without delay” as required by the Act (Section 132(2)) to bring the number of directors within the range specified in the Articles. These directors shall be elected for a full three-year term. If you wish to join a great team of directors, please submit your application: Director’s Application Package (Item #1, Item #2, Item #3) as soon as possible to PCC Peter Bolton at peterbloton767@gmail.com or pcc@cpsecp.org, or to the Chief, Chair of the Board, at cc@cps-ecp.org.

  2. In keeping with our desire to improve our communications and honour our commitment to hold more town hall meetings, we invite you to participate in large numbers in a meeting, which will be scheduled for Sunday, February 22, at 4:00 PM (Pacific Time), 7:00 PM (Eastern Time), and 8:00 PM (Atlantic Time).

Nimbus 365 Coupe – A real long-stay cruising boat for exploring

By Andy Adams

There is no shortage of fun and exciting new boat designs hitting the market, but for the last few years these have been mainly outboard-powered day boats. So when I heard that Pride Marine in Orillia, Ontario, had a Nimbus 365 Coupe in the water, I jumped at the chance to get out on it.

Tahiti—Updates from Paradise

By Zuzana Prochaska

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:

…you understand now why you came this way.
