Bateau à flot de Montréal et de Québec

To the delight of the industry, the two Bateau à flot events will be back this year in Montreal and Quebec City in September.

Very popular with boaters for 11 years in Montreal and 4 years in Quebec, these two events are the perfect opportunity to present not only the end of season deals but also some boats you might not find presented at an indoor show. Plus, walking the docks in ealy autumn always makes boats look extra special.

Bateau a Flot

Bateau à flot de Montréal takes place at le bassin Jacques-Cartier, in the centre of the Vieux-Port de Montréal from the 11 to 13 September. The show is open daily from 10 until 6 (4 on Sunday) and admission is just $5, free for under 17s.

Bateau à flot de Québec runs September 25 to 27 in le Bassin Louise at la Marina du Port de Québec.

Michel Bibeau, the director of the shows, promises there will be many new dalers with new lies of interesting larger boats, many of which have never been seen in Canada.

Montreal in February

And more. This February 4 to 7,  the Salon du Bateau de Montréal (The Montreal Boat Show) heads to the Palais des congrès de Montréal. It’s the biggest show east of Toronto and is the focus of spring boating plans for the region.

Dodging holiday havoc in the tropics

Getting out of town was top-of-mind as it was only November and I was already saturated with Christmas traditions – the music, the glitter, the cookies, the sales. A week in relatively remote Belize was the siren song so we booked a 45-foot catamaran with The Moorings and packed our bags.
