Port Credit In-Water Show starts tomorrow

Port Credit In Water

Aug 23, 2017

This year’s 27th Port Credit In-Water Boat Show, hosted by Port Credit Harbour Marina and Bristol Marine and running August 25 – 27, is sure to draw boaters and would-b boaters to Port Credit’s beautiful waterfront.

As always, there will be a lot of great brand new and pre-owned boats to view, which makes the show attractive to end of the season boat shoppers.

This year, the Boat Show will showcase a special boat for those interested in an environmentally option – the Greenline 33. The Greenline is a hybrid yacht option that Georgian Harbour Yacht Sales is presenting at the show.

New show manager Tracy Parsons has an exciting direction and vision for the show. “We want there to be more of a family focus, to have visitors come view the products but also enjoy their time on the waterfront with their families,” she said.

The show will include food trucks, retailers, public speakers, a beer tent and much more. There will also be a boat simulator.

With over 20 exhibitors and a weekend on the waterfront, there is something for everyone at this year’s boat show.

Cobra Mask, a Toronto-based company specializing in providing the best snorkel gear on the market, will be on hand. They are a proudly Canadian Company and family-operated.

“Many boaters have multiple interests, which include snorkeling, diving and swimming. Cobra Mask has provided a great solution for those sports,” said Tracy.

Solorock, a Mississauga-based company, offers folding bikes which can easily collapse and be stored on a sailboat for easy land travel once docked on a summer vacation.

After a day of boat viewing, family fun and good eats, visitors may well want to stop by the beer tent where Port Credit Social House will be proudly pouring cold brew all day long.

Spotted! Canadian Boating in Antigua & Barbuda

By Mathew Channer

I wore my Canadian Boating cap everywhere I went in Antigua, for the sun, not for the shout-outs. But I sure received a lot of them.

Antigua Sailing Week is an international regatta that draws sailors of every level and spectators from all over the world. Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
