Western Canada’s Premier Maritime Event Kicks Off January 31st

The highly anticipated return of the Vancouver International Boat Show is now just a week away. Taking place January 31 to February 4, 2024, at BC Place and Granville Island, excitement is building for the 61st edition of Western Canada’s foremost maritime boat sale. Not to be missed are the hundreds of exhibitors who will be displaying cutting-edge maritime accessories, the latest in boating technology and gear, and a diverse array of educational seminars and speakers.

At the Vancouver International Boat Show, attendees have an opportunity for an exclusive sneak peek into the hottest gear and sales of the season, featuring revolutionary outboard motors that redefine performance and eco-conscious sails meticulously crafted from alternative bio-based and recycled materials. The Vancouver International Boat Show will take place at two fantastic venues. BC Place will serve as the indoor tradeshow venue, along with the floating show at Granville Island. Ensuring effortless transitions between these locations, complimentary shuttle buses and water ferries will be in operation.

Tahiti—Updates from Paradise

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:
