Classic Boat Show

By Mike Gridley

May 22, 2025

This July at the Muskoka Wharf in Gravenhurst ON, the 43rd Vintage boat show is back stronger than ever. The 2023 show brought out an impressive variety of boats, enthusiastic participants and excited crowds. Following last year’s cancellation, this year as we add back in more events and activities all signs indicate that we will certainly exceed previous attendance.

The public are invited to attend this FREE show with plenty to see and do on the Waterfront and Sports Field. We are expecting a great turnout of boats, both wood and glass, filling the slips at the docks with a strong complement of watercraft being displayed on land. The crowd favourites will be returning, including the Nautical Flea Market, Boats4Sale, and Vendors’ Alley.

New this year is the Vintage and Classic Car Show being held in the Sports Field adjacent to Muskoka Wharf. This event is being organized by the Muskoka Motor Club.

Vintage Boat Show

It’s Huge

The show will feature well over one-hundred boats at the docks and on land. Along with Boats in Motion, the extremely popular Ride-Along program returns. Through the generosity of our members, hundreds of people will enjoy the thrill of a ride in a vintage boat.

To entertain your family, Kids and Classic are back with paddle carving for the Kids and in conjunction with ACBS-Toronto, children’s model boat building returns. Kids and Classics will also be teaming up with Muskoka Sea Fleas,  with both land displays and in water demos of these fun boats.

For those looking to join the vintage boat community or are looking for something special, check the Boats-4-Sale Field of Dreams and Nautical Flea Market. You never know what you will find. It may even be an antique outboard motor that will be on display with the Maple Leaf Antique Outboard Club.

If you are looking to purchase something newer or grab a snack, Venders Alley is worth a tour with everything from apparel to artwork.

While attending the show, take the time to stop by the ACBS Centre adjacent the bandshell for information on the show, ACBS-Membership Information and learn about our club activities and investigate volunteering to assist with future shows and other ACBS-Toronto activities.

Sailing into the Future at Antigua Sailing Week

By Mathew Channer

“Standby tack,” Canadian sailor Katy Campbell orders. The crew scrambles over the sheet lines and braces on the deck.

“Three, two, one, tack!”

I wait until the bow turns into the wind and the headsail snaps over, then crawl over the cabin top of Panacea X to the now windward side. The trim team smoothly sheets on the headsail and a competitor vessel shoots past our stern, feet away, as our Solana 45 beats eastward along Antigua’s south coast.
