POTW: Worthy tribute

POTW SC Coins

Apr 8, 2021

This week’s Photo of the Week is unfortunately not the real thing, although lots of people thought it might be. To get in the April 1 mood, the folks at Sail Canada “commemorated” two of Canada’s top Olympic hopefuls in new coins. Too bad we can’t get the Mint to see the merit.

Here’s the phony offer:

Sail Canada releases collector 10 cent coins /
Voile Canada lance des pièces de 10 cents de collection

To commemorate the Olympic Year and the 100th anniversary of the Bluenose, Sail Canada has released a collector 10cent set.

This special collection pursues the tradition of sailing in Canada, which started with the Bluenose. It will include the already popular dime of the famous ship, as well as two brand new 10cent coins representing Olympians Tom Ramshaw and Sarah Douglas who will be amongst the Canadians to represent the country at the 2021 Olympic Games this summer.

Collector and sailing fans can now order their 10cent coins in the Sail Canada store, using coupon code “#aprilfools” at checkout.

Please send along your Photo of the Week. It could be from your own collection, shot on your phone during launch or anything else you see on a or around a boat. If you grab it off the web, please make sure we have permission to use it!

Send your shots to cyonboard@kerrwil.com and put POTW in the subject line. See you in our POTW next time.
