Photo of the Week: Meet the Arthurs

Arthurs Family Dinghy

May 9, 2019

Abbie, Ella, Jennifer and Michael

Meet the Arthurs Family of Penetanguishene, Ontario.  Abbie, Ella, Jennifer and Michael and their pooch Bailey head out from Hindson Marina in their cuddy every chance they get.  They love the many beautiful anchorages on Southern Georgian Bay especially their favourite spot, Giants Tomb.

The family began boating in 2010 and they are hooked.  In this photo, the Arthurs family had a fun day gunkholing at Big Sand Bay, Christian Island.

The Photo of the Week (POTW) has been running here in CYOB for some time now. It has never been twice the same – you keep coming up with photos to share. We get shots of all kinds of things in and around boats – lots of sunsets and beautiful scenery, interesting boats, crazy signs, pets. The list goes on and we love it. So please keep sending your photos in. It’s boating season any moment now and our POTW inbox is ready for your shots at CYOnBoard@kerrwil.com

Now we have a new angle – people. Would you like to be featured in our Boater Profile? Let’s get some pictures and the stories behind them – who in your family is onboard?

Where do you go? What adventures have you had? By sending your info to us at CYOnBoard@kerrwil.com ;we will get to meet some interesting Canadians who love their boats. Good idea? Absolutely!

Tugnuts.com is quite a unique resource. The online forum has quick links to a chat, info about cruises & gatherings, a channel to ask questions of the Ranger Tugs Factory, Ranger Tugs Technical Discussions, “How to” videos and more.

Sailing into the Future at Antigua Sailing Week

By Mathew Channer

“Standby tack,” Canadian sailor Katy Campbell orders. The crew scrambles over the sheet lines and braces on the deck.

“Three, two, one, tack!”

I wait until the bow turns into the wind and the headsail snaps over, then crawl over the cabin top of Panacea X to the now windward side. The trim team smoothly sheets on the headsail and a competitor vessel shoots past our stern, feet away, as our Solana 45 beats eastward along Antigua’s south coast.
