PORTS GB Cover 2020

Dec 8, 2022

Good afternoon. With the possibility that the Kirkfield locks will be closed, we have no choice but to go north. Could you recommend a book etc. that would list desirable anchorage along Georgian bay small craft route. Thanks Bob Chamberlain

Hello Bob,

Your email was forwarded to me because I can offer an answer and understand your challenges. It will be an adventure for you to head North to avoid any possible challenges at Kirkfield. I am happy to offer my thoughts on locations for homeport as I live near Lock 45 and am quite familiar with the Georgian Bay side as well.

TSW CoverI suggest that you purchase the Georgian Bay PORTS Guide and if you felt you need it (depending on experience) you may wish to purchase the Trent-Severn Waterway PORTS as well. We also publish PORTS and you are likely familiar with it. Georgian Bay edition is a must in my opinion and Trent-Severn is highly recommended if you have not already done that waterway frequently. www.portsbooks.com

Enjoy you summer and planning in advance!

Just when you thought you might never see the Galley Guys again, there they were waving from the flying bridge of a Le Boat Horizon 3 gliding down the Trent Severn Waterway (TSW) in the sun. Glorious!

In the past the Galley Guys have travelled far and wide to great locations to explore the good life on a boat. However, this year we stayed in our own backyard for a real treat; cruising The Trent Severn Waterway.
