Canadian Canoe Museum - Entrance

The Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough, Ontario is an engaging, family-friendly place that offers a fascinating look at Canadian history as seen from a canoe. The museum’s mission is to help you Discover the Heart of Canada.

The museum is kept dark and each exhibit is carefully lit to ward off UV damage on these often delicate and very old canoes and artifacts. Also, it is much larger than you might expect and the displays really tell the story of Canada’s exploration and history by canoe. So, plan a whole day there. It’s well worth it and consider hitting the Canadian Canoe Museum on a weekend that promises rain anyway!
