Western Marine Trade Show Richmond BCThe Western Marine Trade Show held at the Olympic Oval in Richmond BC is a must-see event for the Canadian Marine industry. Western Marine Company is a distributor of marine parts and accessories serving wholesale customers throughout Canada. They carry an extensive inventory of over 35,000 items from more than 350+ manufacturers around the world, which they supply to both the commercial and recreational marine sectors. They sell only to businesses actively involved in the marine industry.

Two British Columbia companies at the show that caught my interest were Interactio in Brentwood Bay and H & H Marine Engine Service Ltd. In Burnaby, BC

Interactio in Brentwood Bay, BC has a new fuel saving device and mobile App, viewing real time boat fuel flow, consumption and a range information using your Smart Phone or Tablet.

Every once in a while, a deceptively simple innovation comes along that just makes sense. Optio Fuel is one such innovation. Until now, the options boat owners had for monitoring their boat’s fuel consumption were either very expensive or difficult to retrofit, leaving boaters relying on instinct and math!

Have you wondered what your range is at your current speed and fuel consumption? Interactio’s Fuel Management system is easy to install, pairs to the Interactio Fuel App on your smartphone using BLE and tells you your engine (or engines) live fuel flow and superimposes your current range as a blue circle on the map/chart on your smartphone.

The app automatically calculates your optimal range and speed/RPM and displays it on the chart as a green EcoRangeTMcircle. Simply adjust your throttle(s) until the blue and green circles align and you are cruising at the optimal speed – maximum range for minumum fuel use. It’s easy and it updates the EcoRangeTM live depending on boat loading, weather conditions, etc

This new device makes it easy for boat owners to directly monitor their vessel’s fuel use using a free app on their smart phone or tablet. The fuel sensor and the mobile app is all that is needed to monitor fuel flow and consumption. Further, current range and optimal speed are also displayed on the device’s map in real time.

The Pursuit S 268 Sport centre console is a do-it-all kind of boat with a solid sense of style. Centre console designs have been developed for the southern blue water sport fishing enthusiasts (and this boat would raise fish with the best of them) but the Pursuit S 268 Sport centre console offers far more utility and enjoyment than just fishing.

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
