Cobourg Waterfront Festival

Carnival On The Peir

June 20, 2017

July is a popular time for boaters on Lake Ontario. On July 1st, 2nd & 3rd the scenic Cobourg waterfront comes alive with crafts, food vendors and carnival rides. This makes for a very entertaining destination weekend.

The Cobourg Waterfront Festival features work of art and superb crafts by dozens of artisans located under large harbour front tents along with lots of entertainment and family fun. For full information visit http://www.waterfrontfestival.ca/.

The Festival began almost 50 years ago as a small art and craft show on beautiful Victoria Beach on Canada Day in 1967. The event included a fireworks display put on by local fire fighters to celebrate Canada’s Centennial.

Fast forward to the 1990’s when the Cobourg Rotary Club and the Cobourg Lions Club became involved along with a volunteer committee from the Town. Since that time, the Cobourg Waterfront Festival has become one of the largest summer festivals in Ontario, attracting tens of thousands of people to the community over the Canada Day long weekend.

True to the spirit of the 7th generation Oceanis line, the 34.1 is built in Poland and replaces the 35.1. It is 1,000 lbs lighter, 14 cm narrower and has 29% more sail area.
