We all have a unique image we hold in our minds when we dream of blue water chartering—white sand, palm trees, azure seas, taught sails (or the comforting thrum of a motor if you’re motor enthusiast). I’ve been all over the Caribbean and nowhere has my personal chartering dreamscape been more visually realized than Antigua & Barbuda.

It’s hard to believe Antigua & Barbuda wasn’t custom-built by the sea gods for modern day chartering. Dozens of protected anchorages, crystal waters and reliable trade winds lay the foundation for a fantastic marine journey that can be as adventurous or as laid back as you like. Throw in the country’s scenery, history, delicious food and a local culture that loves to sing, dance and be kind to strangers, and you’ve quite literally got the perfect cruising grounds.
