VETTA LEVATA 23 QLS – Luxury and Convenience

By Andy Adams

Vetta is a whole new line of luxury pontoons from Duhamel and Dewar, the family that brought us Legend Boats. It’s not a Legend, it’s a Vetta. And there are four variations in the Vetta line. Here we profile the Vetta Levata 23 QLS. Levata is a Scandinavian word for “elevated” and QLS stands for Quad Lounge Seating.

It’s a guiding design principle of the Vetta experience to make boating easier and more enjoyable. Equipped standard with a 150 hp Mercury FourStroke outboard, the Vetta Levata models also include Mercury’s Vessel View system, an accessory to the Mercury engine that allows you to monitor and download a range of important engine information to your phone. It also includes 24/7 customer support from BoatFix, where trained operators help troubleshoot or guide you through issues. If needed, further conversation with a technician or service can be arranged.

A protectant called Vetta Shield is also included. It’s applied to the pontoons and all of the furniture to keep your new Vetta looking beautiful. Another luxury feature is an on-water orientation for new owners. They will deliver your new Vetta to your lake and guide you through a complete on-the-water orientation of the functionality and features. The Vetta Experience is all this and far more!

Everything is designed around the boat owner for luxury and convenience. A great example is the Simrad NSX system which includes both a 9-inch and a 7-inch multifunction display, letting you control all the features of the boat digitally. This includes interior lighting, even in places like the cupholders, the speakers and more. It’s a dimmer system as well. Perimeter under-deck lights are included and offer a great after dark cruising experience. The Vetta Levata Simrad NSX system also includes navigation charts, depth sounder, GPS for speed and far more.

The Vetta Collection offers both two tube and tritoon pontoons in the Kühl and Kuuma collections while the Levata and Elegans collections sport only tritoons pontoons. Tritoons have three tubes for lift and better performance. The Vetta Levata model includes tilt, hydraulic-assist steering to make handling easy. Another remarkable feature is the powered Bimini top. This can quickly be lowered or raised if the weather changes, to go under a bridge, or for any other reason. All of the Vetta models can have the power top added.

The Vetta Levata QLS designation stands for Quad Lounge Seating. The aft seating lounges have an adjustable back rest to either face forward, or to face back for those times when people are swimming or being towed for water sports. Also, in this area is space for a dual battery system with a switch and throughout the whole boat, you get numerous drink holders with stainless steel construction, interior lighting and a rubber insert.

The driver and passenger chairs swivel, have adjustable backrests and slide fore and aft plus armrests for ultimate comfort. Included is a removable table and you can choose where you want it located in the boat. It has four drink holders and it’s ideal for dining or family activities.

With plenty of power for family needs and towing tubes, the base engine is a Mercury 150 hp FourStroke outboard, but you can move up to a 300 hp Mercury if you want the fastest pontoon on the lake! A stainless-steel ski tow system is standard as is a special Lilipad boarding ladder. This has wide steps that even a dog can use and it extends out at an angle making it like you’re going up stairs. It’s easy to deploy and retrieve thanks to the advanced design and pull-up strap.

Making swimming and water sports easier is the large back deck area. This includes a storage console with two drink holders plus, there’s a centre under-floor storage area for skis, boards and other equipment below deck and out of the way.

Evening cruises are a special focus with the Blue Ice lighting package and lights under the rub rail all around. For swimmers and boarders, there’s a folding privacy area so you can get out of those wet bathing suits.

The Vetta Levata is richly appointed with two different colour combinations available and far more features than we have listed here. Check it out online at www.vettapontoons.ca or contact your nearest Legend Flagship Store or your nearest authorized Vetta dealer.

Spotted! Canadian Boating in Antigua & Barbuda

By Mathew Channer

I wore my Canadian Boating cap everywhere I went in Antigua, for the sun, not for the shout-outs. But I sure received a lot of them.

Antigua Sailing Week is an international regatta that draws sailors of every level and spectators from all over the world. Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
