Boats: Popular Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349

Feb 11, 2021

Some boats retain their popularity because they have hit a sweet spot with sailors. Introduced a few years ago, there are hundreds of these 349s around the world. The features and value make it popular – the current base price is listed at US$154,800. Several configurations including three keel options (a swing keel!) and performance options mean buyers can build a version for their needs.

Antigua Sailing Week is an international regatta that draws sailors of every level and spectators from all over the world. Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
