Yummy Stuff: Boating Recipes

Galley Guys

July 11, 2024

Gourmands extraordinaire, Canadian Boating’s Galley Guys (and Girls) have made boats and food synonyms. When they are out on the water, it’s snackilicious; when they tie up it’s off to a shoreside eatery.

Snacking and summer boating are inseparable. Cook in advance or better yet, fire up the stern rail barbecue.

Grilled Fish Tacos

What could be more appropriate to make on board your boat than fish? And what could be more fun than a taco? healthy Grilled Fish Tacos with lots of toppings can be ready in less than 30 minutes. All you need to get started is a lean and flakey white fish, some fresh ingredients like cilantro and lime and some corn or flour tortillas.

Grilled Chicken

with the right marinade and a good feel for the grill, chicken has the potential to be the perfect recipe for an evening spent out on the boat. And with creative sides, maybe even something else grilled, you can easily take it over the top.

Corn on the Cob

Corn season will be starting soon. And it couldn’t be easier or simpler to get it perfect – all you need is some butter, salt and your grill, and it’ll be ready for you and your passengers to enjoy.

Turkey-Avocado Club Sandwich

For a simple lunch, sometimes the best option is a sandwich. But who says it has to be boring? All you’ll need are typical sandwich fixings, including turkey and, of course, avocado. Make lunchtime exciting!

Watermelon Salad

Picture a hot summer day, out in the sun. What’s the one fruit you’re most likely to grab? The answer for many people is watermelon. If that’s the case, why not dress it up in a watermelon salad from loveandlemons.com? With feta, avocado, mint and lime, this salad is delicious and refreshing, just like its watermelon base.

Spotted! Canadian Boating in Antigua & Barbuda

By Mathew Channer

I wore my Canadian Boating cap everywhere I went in Antigua, for the sun, not for the shout-outs. But I sure received a lot of them.

Antigua Sailing Week is an international regatta that draws sailors of every level and spectators from all over the world. Yet I couldn’t walk across a room without being hailed by a Canadian who was as excited to see my cap as they were to see the racing. I met many who were on their 3rd, 4th and 5th visit.
