This year at the Boat Shows you will find a nice surprise. In addition to being able to demo some of our Online Courses you will be able to sign up for the Self Study VHF Radio courses for $100. This course normally is $125. To get the special price you will need to purchase it at a Boat Show Booth.

Many of our Online Courses will be getting a face lift over the winter months and will have additional interactive content to enhance learning objectives. Many Squadrons are developing innovative ways of giving students multiple ways of taking courses these days. Be sure to look at the details of how each course is being offered. This will range from a pure Self Study mode that you can do in your own time, it might have an online tutor that you can ask question, you may find your self in a weekly online or face to face classroom to answer questions and ensure you know the content, or some other combination. The great advantage that CPS-ECP brings to the marketplace is our people, in our Squadrons, which span this vast country. Our people are our greatest resource and are finding new ways to support students as they learn to enjoy boating in a safe way.

Tahiti—Updates from Paradise

I’ve been to Tahiti seven times—six on charter and once as crew for a couple of yachties. Over the 25 years that I’ve been visiting, it’s changed dramatically. Yet, inexplicably, it has also stayed the same.

Lounging on the flybridge of our Sunsail 454, I had time to think about this dichotomy as I toasted the nighttime skies of Bora Bora and specifically the Southern Cross, a constellation that never fails to hypnotize. As the Crosby, Stills & Nash (1982) tune reminds us:
