Eating and drinking by the water’s edge is an essential part of boating, maybe even the most important aspect. So we have decided to share, and ask you to do the same.

Here’s all it takes, a picture and name of your favorite on-the-water pub or dining establishment and the reason(s) why you love it. It can be fancy or a seafarer’s dive. If it’s your favorite watering hole by the bay or your beloved romantic venue for a special shoreside gourmet experience, please let us know.

Here’s one that I love, the aptly named Boathouse in Belleville ON. It’s across the bridge from Crate’s, across the basin from BQYC and down the street from Meyers Pier, ideal whether you’re a local or visiting cruiser. To say the fish and chips at the Boathouse is sublime is only the beginning, on Monday night it’s also copious with an all you can eat barrage for 15 bucks!

The cause of an explosion onboard a boat that sent a 46-year old father and his 13-year-old son from Port McNeill to hospital is still unknown. Shortly after 3 p.m. on August 5, RCMP received a report of an explosion on a 50-foot pleasure craft at the Port McNeill Fuel Dock and Marina on Beach Drive.
“The boat had finished fueling up and they jumped on board to start the engines, but the engines wouldn’t start,” said Steve Jackman, Manager of the fuel dock.

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
